At the center of the Mahi-Tahi peoples, is their enormous holy city Kotahitanga. The city is built onto the side of a massive mesa, and spreads out in all directions from its base. The crown of the mesa is reserved for pilgrimages and ceremonies, and no development has spread to that area.
Both halves of the Mahi-Tahi leadership have their command in Kotahitanga, but in separate areas. Carved highest into the side of the mesa, The imposing Temple of MoeMare looks out upon the sprawling populace. And at the center of that sprawl is the massive Ziggurat housing the Chieftan and his retinue.
It is taught that the Dragon God MoeMare slumbers beneath Kotahitanga, that the steam rising from beneath the mountain in the morning is his breath, that the occasional earthquake is him turning in his sleep.
